Introduction

Research is organized in the form of research programs. Each program has a regulation and is run by one or more program directors. The program directors organize research activity in collaboration with professionals from home and abroad, ACCPI students being involved as research assistants or researchers in these programs.

The research department is headed by the Commission for the Organization of Professional and Scientific Manifestations, led by Loredana Ileana Viscu.

No matter what the psychotherapeutic approach used by the psychotherapist in his/her practice, he/she will have to consider whether there is empirical support for the treatment applied. Evidence-based practice means combining knowledge about treatments that work for certain nosological entities with what is appropriate for a certain client, in a certain cultural setting.

According to the American Psychological Association, evidence-based practice is the integration of the best research available with clinical experience, in the context of client characteristics, culture and preferences. Evidence-based practice emphasizes the results of experimental comparisons to document the effectiveness of treatments over control groups, other treatments, or compared to both. Clients are entitled to treatment that has been proven to be effective. Effective treatment means the ability of the psychotherapist to make a fair choice of treatment. Increasingly, psychotherapists need to be up to date with research in the field of psychology.

Twenty years ago, too few psychotherapists were concerned about the scientific evidence to support the psychotherapeutic approach they adhered to. But the world of psychotherapy has changed a lot since the early 21st century. Psychotherapists must be able to scientifically support one or another therapeutic approach and have the obligation to know what works and what doesn’t. What evidence is there to support the effectiveness of a particular approach in psychotherapy? What shows us that certain factors and / or interventions are effective? Do you know which treatments are proven to be effective? Do you use the same interventions regardless of the client presentation problem? We need to document the factors that work in psychothera

Observation:

According to the Ministry of Education, ISI indexing means a journal / publication for which Thomson Reuters calculates and publishes the impact factor in Journal Citation Reports. ISI indexing presents three sub-products (databases): SCI-E (Science Citation Index-Expanded), SSCI (Social Sciences Citation Index) and AHCI (Arts & Humanities Citation Index). What we call ISI or simply ISI refers to the journals listed in these three products (SCI-E, SSCI, AHCI). All three databases are accessible through the Web of Science platform (http://isiknowledge.com). ISI quotes are Article, Proceeding type documents listed in SCI-E, SSCI or AHCI. In the three ISI databases (SCI-E, SSCI, AHC) there can be Proceeding paper articles. ISI-Proceedings represents two other databases: Conference Proceedings Citation IndexScience (CPCI-S) and Conference Proceedings Citation Index- Social Science & Humanities (CPCI-SSH).
